Help the Lawrence Community Shelter (LCS) maintain steady food supplies in collaboration with the Lawrence Ecumenical Campus Ministries (ECM)! The ECM hosts Veggie Lunch events every Thursday from 11:30-1:30 PM on campus, and have agreed for their leftovers be packaged and delivered through the CAAS Program to the Lawrence Community Shelter.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Arrive around 1:30PM at the ECM building (1204 Oread Ave, Lawrence, KS 66044). You may park on the ECM premises on their gravel lot. Enter the ECM through the front door and let a staff member know that you are there to deliver leftovers to the LCS. Aluminum tins should be provided for food packaging. You are allowed to package anything left EXCEPT soup (difficult to transport) and leftover bread donations from Wheatfields (the LCS already receives bread donations from Wheatfields).
Deliver leftovers to the Lawrence Community Shelter (3655 E 25th, Lawrence, KS 66046). Upon arrival, enter through the front main entry doors, and let the front desk know that you are here with ECM leftovers. Ask a staff member to unlock the kitchen doors to let you into the kitchen, which is located in the room directly across from the front doors and to the left where there is a metal counter and closed metal shutters. Place the leftovers where directed by the staff upon granted entry, and you're done! Thank you so much for helping the LCM with this simple yet crucial need. :-)
