KU Dining and Sustainability are collaborating for a waste audit. At dinner time we will be auditing how much edible food is wasted after students have completed their meals. We’ll be weighing the plate waste and using these calculations to put together some informative marketing tools to help raise awareness about food waste and behavior.
Tasks will include will include taking plates from diners, scraping them off into barrels and weighing the barrels for a total average pounds of foods wasted. Gloves and aprons will be provided.
Multiple shifts are available from 4:30-8:30 on both Nov 5th (Mrs E's), Nov 6th (South Dining Hall), and Nov 7th (North College Cafe).
