Join CAAS for the Empty Bowls Project, an event raising money and awareness for the Lawrence Community Shelter.
Head over to Sunfire Ceramics anytime between Wednesday, March 29 - Friday, March 31 to paint a bowl for free, generously donated by Sunfire Ceramics! Be sure to mention you are with the Empty Bowls Project. There are limited bowls available, so try to go as early as possible. Their hours of operation are:
- Wednesday, March 29 - 11:00 - 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, March 30 - 1:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, March 31 - 1:00 - 7:00 p.m.
The bowls will then be fired and sold for a recommended donation of $5 to benefit the Lawrence Community Shelter. If you love the bowl you paint, come back for the bowl sale event during Into the Streets Week (a week of advocacy and volunteering events planned by the 12 CCO programs) on Thursday, April 20 to pick up your bowl (as well as a bowl of vegan chili). All proceeds will benefit the Lawrence Community Shelter. This will be taking place from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on the Jayhawk Walk, the tables lining the 4th floor of the Kansas Union.
