Jayhawk Junk is an event hosted by KU Student Senate to recycle and repurpose common student items that are thrown out during the move-out process. Fore more information, please see the following website https://studentsenate.ku.edu/jayhawk-junk.
Currently, they are in need of volunteers to assist in the event in three different stations: the Donation Zone, the Central Cleaning Hub, and the Storage. This listing pertains to the Central Cleaning Hub.
As a volunteer in the Central Cleaning Hub, volunteers will have the following responsibilities:

Receiving accepted items

Cleaning items based on their type: wiping down mini-fridges / microwaves, spraying down couches / rugs, etc.
- Updating item status in inventory excel
- Loading items onto moving truck for pickup

Must be able to lift 25 - 50lbs
The cleaning hub will be located in the Ellsworth Commons. Moreover, there will be 2 shifts. Shift A will be 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and shift B will be 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
