The Dole Institute of Politics invites you to take part in the most important event the Dole Institute has had since its dedication on July 22, 2003. On July 22, 2023, we are hosting a public celebration of the Dole Institute’s 20th anniversary as well as commemorating Senator Bob Dole's Centenary.
We can’t carry out this momentous event without your help!
On July 22, we need 30 volunteers for a variety of tasks, both inside and outside, as we will have a large tribute to Bob Dole, food trucks, live music, and outdoor games.
- Are you OK in the heat and like to give directions on where to park? Then parking attendant would be great for you! We will provide a tent for shade and cold bottled water all day.
- Are you a KU student who loves to interact with kids? Hang out in the family activity Kid Zone area and help with games or the bounce house!
- Need a place inside out of the heat? Museum help and inside information table may be your jam.
Please fill out this volunteer form to record your volunteer acceptance. Although we are asking for your availability from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., volunteer shifts will be 2 to 4 hours. All volunteers will be given a volunteer t-shirt when they arrive, but dress for the weather! Shorts are okay, whatever you feel comfortable in for the weather. We can’t emphasize enough what a big deal this celebration is. Planned attendees are Senator Elizabeth Dole, Robin Dole, Institute Director Emeritus Bill Lacy, and other leaders at the state and national level. Also, it will be amazing to see Stan Herd’s completed Earthwork project of Bob Dole!
