Description

The 41st Annual Youth Culture Camp at Rotary Youth in Lee's Summit, Missouri

During this week we will be having an overnight camp from Wednesday through Sunday. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about Indigenous/First Nations stories, culture, and Powwow etiquette. Many campers have been coming here for years and we are happy to be returning to the Rotary Youth Camp since the summer of 2019.

While this is an application process, if you are unable to stay for the entire duration, do not let that stop you from applying. Relief staff and support staff are necessary to help our camp run smoothly as well as cabin counselors.

Submit an application at kcindiancenter.org/youth-programming.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Counselor in Training (Ages 15 - 19)
  • Camp Counselor and Support Staff (20+)

COVID-19 Guidelines:

There is a COVID-19 procedure page in the application. This requires that upon arrival to the Rotary Park, all people will be required to wear a face mask over their nose and mouth until a negative COVID test results from the person is verified. A COVID test kit will be provided by the Kansas City Indian Center, and a testing station will be provided to complete the test.

If you plan to participate in long-term volunteering or service projects with our community partners, we highly recommend completing a Service Project Agreement to set clear expectations between you and the organization.

If you plan to use any service hours completed through our community partners for the Certificate in Service Learning service hour requirement, we recommend completing a Service Verification Form to ensure those hours can be verified by our team.
