stARTup is a program to help high school students who aspire to be professional artists, with professional guidance from local artists and specialists in the field. This program for high school artists culminates with a solo exhibition for each student in a downtown gallery in Lawrence. Students in 9th-12thgrades immerse themselves in a project-based, creative environment where they can develop real-world experience and hands-on arts-based job skills. stARTup classes are held every Wednesday form 3:30-6:30pm.
Lawrence Art Center is looking for volunteers for assistance in these classrooms with material prep and aiding artists in their projects from 3pm-6:30 pm.
