Description

Join Ability Advocates for their Into the Streets Week 2018 event, Autism and Advocacy. Into the Streets Week is a week of service and advocacy events hosted by the Center for Community Outreach centered around diversity, collaboration, and representation.

For Autism and Advocacy, come hear Elizabeth Boresow, a KU alumna and music therapist who specializes providing services for youth and adults with disabilities, discuss her experiences with autism at KU and how to be an advocate for those of various abilities!

This discussion will be followed by a service opportunity to write letters of encouragement for Kansas Special Olympics athletes competing in Nationals. Service hours will only be awarded to those who participate in the advocacy (listening to the speaker) and letter-writing component.

This event will take place on Friday, April 27 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. in the Divine Nine Room of the Kansas Union.

If you have any questions or concerns, or the volunteer spots are filled and you still would like to attend, email the Ability Advocates coordinators at aadvocates@ku.edu.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend University of Kansas sponsored events. If you are need of reasonable accommodations, please contact the Center for Community Outreach at cco@ku.edu or (785)-864-4073.
