The Care Cupboard at Heartland Community Health Center needs your help! Volunteer at the health center’s food pantry by helping receive and assist shoppers, stock donated items and assist with special projects.
Heartland’s Care Cupboard is open Monday-Thursday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. They are looking for up to 2 volunteers for every 3-hour shift. Volunteers can be from any major and any experience level but must be able to stand for 2+ hours, lift 30+ pounds and be interested in giving great care and service to shoppers.
If you are interested in signing up for a 3-hour shift during their open hours, please reach out to the Care Cupboard Coordinator at carecupboard@heartlandhealth.org. You will need to schedule a volunteer interview before starting service at Heartland's Care Cupboard. Also, because Heartland is a health center, a background check and copy of your immunization record will be needed prior to service.
Our community partners rely on volunteers to facilitate and support their programs. Before signing up for a volunteer opportunity, please consider whether you have the time and capacity to serve. We understand that life happens, but please try your best to provide community partners at least a 48-hour notice if you need to cancel your volunteer shift.
If you plan to participate in long-term volunteering or service projects with our community partners, we highly recommend completing a Service Project Agreement to set clear expectations between you and the organization.
If you plan to use any service hours completed through our community partners for the Certificate in Service Learning service hour requirement, we recommend completing a Service Verification Form to ensure those hours can be verified by our team.
