Audio-Reader’s Sensory Garden, located right by the Audio-Reader building on campus (1120 W 11th St) is maintained entirely by volunteers and is a beautiful place that is designed to appeal to all senses, not just sight, so that everyone can enjoy the garden. Volunteers help with weeding, sweeping the path, planting and trimming.
Audio-Reader has a weekly time for volunteers to be in the garden. Volunteers must complete the application process and receive a orientation session with a staff member before volunteering.
Accessible via the 4, 34, and 36 Lawrence Transit bus lines, as well as T Lift and Lawrence Transit on Demand. If any barriers are preventing you from participating in service, see if a Community Service Capacity Award is right for you.
