About:
Send your support and happy vibes to a sick or injured child with a card. It’s the thought that counts and he or she is sure to appreciate your kindness.
Reminders:
You are welcome to use craft supplies such as washable markers, crayons, colored pencils, construction paper, and stickers. All supplies should be safe for young children; do not use pom-poms, googly eyes, glitter, or sequins. Nothing should fall, rub, or smear off the card because this can create health concerns for some children.
Please do not address the card to a specific person.
Please do not write illness-related comments like “get well.” Some children that receive our cards suffer from chronic, life-threatening and/or terminal conditions. Some may also be facing uncertainty regarding their treatment and diagnosis. It is important to write uplifting messages rather than “get well” or other focused comments.
Do not include any personal information including, but not limited to, addresses, telephone numbers, social security numbers, driver license numbers, and other identifying numbers.
Please do not write any religious comments.
Only sign your first name on the card. Please do not sign your last name on the card.
Instructions:
1. Write however many letters as you like! One letter will count for one service hour.
2. Take a photo of your letter(s) and send the photos to cco@ku.edu (please make sure to include your first and last name in the email). From there mail the letter to their postal address :
