Who We Are

Since 1994, Jubilee Cafe has operated as a community breakfast program through a collaboration between First United Methodist Church and KU's Center for Community Outreach.

What We Do

Jubilee Cafe is a community breakfast program serving the in-need population of Lawrence. It operates out of First United Methodist Church (946 Vermont St, Lawrence, KS 66044) on Tuesday and Friday mornings. The mission of Jubilee Café is to feed the hungry, and serve and dignify those in need. The KU Center for Community Outreach recruits and trains volunteers for the program. We work as servers, completing jobs such as waiting tables, serving drinks, and helping clean up. The shift is from 6:15 AM-8:15 AM.

No previous experience is required and you don’t have to commit any amount of hours to our program. With two two-hour shifts each week, Jubilee offers consistent volunteer opportunities, and with our early timing, you can get your volunteer hours without missing classes or extracurriculars. You can sign up individually or as a group. We can be flexible on time on a case-to-case basis.

Email the Jubilee coordinators with any questions.
