Description

Special Olympics Kansas is dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports competitions, health and nutrition programs and leadership development. Offering year-round initiatives to children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Special Olympics Kansas is a platform for acceptance and inclusion as well as one of the largest advocates for healthy lifestyles in the state – regardless of race, religion, ethnicity or cultural differences.

Volunteers are the backbone of Special Olympics. If you are seeking a volunteer opportunity that can make a difference in both your life and the lives of others, Special Olympics needs you. As a Volunteer-driven organization, we rely on dedicated volunteers of all ages to assist in many aspects of the program. Each year, 20,000 dedicated volunteers in Kansas share their time and enthusiasm to provide quality sports programs for all individuals with intellectual disabilities. From coaches to trainers, officials, scorekeepers, timers and fundraisers, Special Olympics Kansas works with your help and support.

Review and Sign Up for SOKS Volunteer Opportunities

Our community partners rely on volunteers to facilitate and support their programs. Before signing up for a volunteer opportunity, please consider whether you have the time and capacity to serve. We understand that life happens, but please try your best to provide community partners at least a 48-hour notice if you need to cancel your volunteer shift.

If you plan to participate in long-term volunteering or service projects with our community partners, we highly recommend completing a Service Project Agreement to set clear expectations between you and the organization.

If you plan to use any service hours completed through our community partners for the Certificate in Service Learning service hour requirement, we recommend completing a Service Verification Form to ensure those hours can be verified by our team.
